Getting Up From the Floor

This might be the most important lesson in the entire program.

The ability to get up from the floor independently is one of the most studied and most predictive measures of functional fitness and longevity in older adults. A landmark study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that the ability to sit down on the floor and stand back up — without assistance — was strongly associated with overall health outcomes.
