Phase 3Week 9 · Lesson 2
Changing Direction Safely
12 minutesClear floor space, chair for support
Walking in a straight line is one thing. Turning, pivoting, and changing direction is something else entirely.
Direction changes recruit different muscles, challenge different parts of your balance system, and require your brain to process spatial information more rapidly. They're also where a large proportion of stumbles and balance losses happen in everyday life — not while walking straight ahead, but while turning a corner, pivoting to look at something, or changing course to avoid an obstacle.
