Loaded Carries

The farmer carry — picking up weights and walking with them — is one of the most practical exercises in existence. And it's significantly underused.

Think about what you actually do with your body on a regular basis: you carry grocery bags from the car. You carry a laundry basket. You carry luggage through an airport. You carry a pot from the stove to the sink. You carry a grandchild from one room to another. All of these are loaded carries. All of them require grip strength, core stability, shoulder stability, and the ability to walk upright under load.
